The finding of these spectacular fluorapophyllite "disco balls" while excavating huge diameter water wells is without a doubt one of the Deccan Traps' Great Finds.
A "small ball" over... "ball" of densely intergrown, gemmy, highly glassy, mint-green to colourless tetragonal crystals with pinacoidal terminations is dramatically positioned atop the thin basalt matrix covered with mounded, pearlescent, beige stilbite blades.
A few little apophyllites interspersed across the stilbites add a lovely finishing touch to this eye-catching 360-degree artwork.
